Master Chief Petty of the Navy John Perryman visited the installation April 13, 2026 and visited several key training commands and installation departments. Captain Henry Roenke, installation commanding officer, provided an overview of the base and showcased how its shore platform is helping to forge and support warfighters for initial or additional service to the fleet. During the visit MCPON Perryman toured the the Ney Hall Galley, the recently-awarded 2025 Capt. Edward F. Ney recipient of Best East Coast General Mess. He also met with the installations Funeral Honors team.
