NAVAL STATION GREAT LAKES (April 13, 2026) — Machinery Repairman 2nd Class Kenneth Whitfield, center, an intructor at Surface Warfare Engineering School Command (SWESC) Great Lakes, trains the newest generation of U.S. Navy machinery repairmen at the Machinery Repairman Schoolhouse, April 13, on board Naval Station Great Lakes. SWESC is responsible for providing technical training to every surface Navy engineer, quartermaster, boatswain and deck seaman; preparing each Sailor to perform on U.S. Navy ships operating around the globe.
