From March 22–23, 2026, the 1001st Quartermaster Detachment participated in the Philip A. Connelly Competition in Florence, Ariz. The Philip A. Connelly Competition is the U.S. Army’s premier evaluation of field feeding excellence, recognizing food service teams for their culinary skill, teamwork, and ability to deliver high‑quality meals under realistic field conditions. Units are assessed on everything from food quality and sanitation to tactical setup, efficiency, and adherence to Army field feeding standards — making it one of the most respected competitions in the Quartermaster Corps.
