Pfc. Casey Burkheen, an ammo team chief with the 2nd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), stops to chat with a young Iraqi girl during a patrol in the town of Al Zor, Iraq. Burkheen and the artillerymen from the 2-320th FAR have been conducting "Operation Balls DiMaggio" since June 18; the operation is a full-spectrum combat operation aimed at interdicting weapons trafficking, capturing munitions financiers, limiting indirect-fire attacks, and other insurgent activity, in vicinity of the Joint Base Balad Anaconda. During the course of the operation, the "Balls of the Eagle" Battalion has been conducting 24-hour combat patrols in an effort to provide a long lasting effect on an ever improving security situation in the area.
