C-130 Sprays Water Over Arizona Wilderness

A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules equipped with the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) releases a plume of water during training at Libby Army Airfield, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, Feb. 11–21, alongside the U.S. Forest Service’s National Aerial Supervision Training Academy (NASTA). Aircrews from multiple Air National Guard units and one Air Force Reserve unit conducted hundreds of simulated drops, delivering nearly two million pounds of retardant to enhance interagency coordination and wildfire response readiness.
