Capt. Christopher Petro, the new commanding officer of San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23), leaves the change of command ceremony aboard the ship, April 3, 2026. Petro relieved Capt. Matthew Ventimiglia, former commanding officer aboard Anchorage, in a traditional Navy change of command ceremony. Anchorage is currently homeported in San Diego.
