Timothy Washburn, commanding officer of Navy Talent Acquisition Group Pittsburgh, left, awards the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Award to Radioman 1st Class Mark Hardy, retired, where he was assigned while serving on active duty, Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, April 1, 2026. Hardy returned to Navy Talent Acquisition Group Pittsburgh to receive his long-overdue award which recognizes his superior performance throughout his Navy service from 1973 to 1991. He was medically discharged in 1991 and later granted retirement in 2021 by the Board of Corrections of Naval Records. NTAG Pittsburgh, part of Navy Recruiting Command, recruits the next generation of Navy Sailors throughout areas in Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, and Maryland.
