The Project Director Sensors-Aerial Intelligence Virtual Aerial Systems Trainer (VAST) team successfully integrated a continuous-access virtual reality (VR) demonstration alongside the Aerial Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Working Group at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command headquarters at Fort Belvoir in March 2026.
The event facilitated direct engagement with Senior Executive Service leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, validating VR as a viable improvement for legacy training models across the Intelligence Community, and establishing confidence in the directive that VAST is the primary training aids, devices, simulators, and simulations for non-rated crewmembers on the High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES).
