NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain – (March 18, 2026) U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 79 participate in pre-flight briefings with exchange pilots from the Spanish Armada onboard Naval Station (NAVSTA) Rota, Spain, March 18, 2026. The pilot exchange program streamlines mission planning and logistics to increase interoperability and mission lethality between the U.S. Navy and the Spanish Armada. NAVSTA Rota is a force multiplier, capable of promptly deploying and supporting combat-ready forces through land, air and sea, enabling warfighters and their families, sustaining the fleet and fostering the U.S. and Spanish partnership.
