U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Sebastian Vargas, an electrician specialist with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), demonstrates how to preform a safety check on a boom lift to Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 7, 1st Marine Logistics Group, assigned to JTF-SB in Yuma, Ariz., March 31, 2026. The training is designed to develop capabilities for upcoming southern border reinforcement missions. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. Southern Border.
