The 1-149th Attack Battalion, 36th Combat Aviation Brigade, conducted its final AH-64D Apache training and turned them in on March 20, 2026 — marking the end of an era and a significant milestone in Army Aviation history.
From the initial fielding of the AH-64A in 1991 to the introduction of the AH-64D in 2012, the Apache has remained a symbol of lethality, precision, and unmatched combat power. The soldiers of the 1-149th AB have carried that legacy forward with professionalism and pride.
That legacy continues as units in Texas and Mississippi modernize to the AH-64E Guardian—bringing enhanced capabilities, advanced technology, and increased lethality to the battlefield. (U.S. Army photo by Gabe Taddei)
