260326-N-XG173-2012 NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (Mar. 26, 2026) Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Sailors assigned to Kongo-class guided-missile destroyer JS Chokai (DDG 176), stand at attention during a Dockside Alignment Test (DSAT) Ceremony onboard Naval Base San Diego (NBSD) Mar 26, 2026. The DSAT for Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) installation formally declares the JMSDF’s acquisition of TLAM Launch Capability, showcasing the operational capabilities and coordination between Allied forces, and emphasizing the importance of strategic maritime operations, while bolstering the U.S.-Japan Alliance for a free and open Indo-Pacific. An integral part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. 3rd Fleet leads naval forces in the Indo-Pacific and provides the realistic, relevant training necessary to execute the U.S. Navy's role across the full spectrum of military operations.
