M240B machine gunners assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment take positions in the tree line to provide suppressive gunfire for flanking infantry teams as they "invade" range 61 on U.S. Army Support Activity Fort Dix, March 22, 2026, during a squad/platoon live-fire exercise. The exercise was part of a larger Combined Arms Live-Fire Exercise (CALFEX) at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., March 19-22. True to its name, a combination of infantry weapons was used in the CALFEX, including the M27 Infantry automatic rifle, M240B machine gun, MK19 automatic grenade launcher (40 mm) and the Carl-Gustav rocket launcher.
