FORT POLK, La. — Jacob Pierce, a 10-year-old fifth-grade student from Pitkin Elementary School, records notes as Cleophus D. Graves, chief of Fort Polk Police, shares a personal story during a school interview on good citizenship as part of his Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) curriculum, March 26. The assignment challenged Pierce to identify who, what, when, where and why moments of service occur, reinforcing the importance of helping others and standing up for what is right.
