Alexandria, Va., native Capt. Geoff S. Palmer, an AV-8B Harrier aviator with Marine Attack Squadron 231, was awarded a combat mission patch and flight hour patch June 17, for accomplishing 500 successful combat missions and 300 consecutive accident free flight hours in the Harrier.
