A U.S. Marine assigned to 1st Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, attached to Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, conducts an amphibious raid exercise with the Royal Malaysian Army during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Malaysia 2013. More than 1,200 sailors and Marines are participating in CARAT. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Timor Leste.
