Hull Technician 2nd Class Kyle Thiel welds a metal rack to make a shelf inside the pipe shop aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54). Curtis Wilbur is taking part in Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Malaysia 2013. More than 1,200 sailors and Marines are participating in CARAT. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Timor Leste.
