A Mortarman with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force participates in a live-fire event on San Clemente Island as part of exercise Dawn Blitz here. Dawn Blitz 2013 is an amphibious exercise testing U.S. and coalition forces in skills expected of a Navy and Marine Corps amphibious task force.
