U.S. Soldiers from the 50th Multi-Role Bridge Company, 5th Engineer Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, participate in search and rescue operations training at Fort Hood, Texas, Feb. 23, 2026. The 50th MRBC is a part of Task Force 3 Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Response Force (DCRF). This training is to prepare units of Task Force 3 to participate in Guardian response. This exercise simulates the worst-case scenarios of a domestic CBRNE catastrophe. The training allowed soldiers to practically set up and use their equipment to identify nuclear emissions and practice decontaminating a casualty. Additionally, it encouraged collaboration across the company’s platoons, enabling each section to work together toward a common goal. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Spc. Thomas Madrzak)
