A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 161, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, stages on a runway in Holtville, California, March 18, 2026. VMM-161 conducted unit level training in order to increase aircraft proficiency and night systems qualifications. The Osprey and its crew perform various mission sets at all times, day or night, to include emergency casualty evacuation, cargo transport, raid force insertion and extraction and high mobility flight operations.
