U.S. Army Pfc. Dylan Damstetter, explosive ordnance disposal technician assigned to the 720th Ordnance Company (EOD), 18th Military Police Brigade, provides detonating cord assembly instructions to Kenya Defence Forces engineers assigned to the 10th Engineer Battalion during a Justified Accord 2026 demolition explosive effects training event at Bearing Point 5, Laresoro, Kenya March 11, 2026. The training improved interoperability and shared understanding of explosive effects, strengthening partner nation capabilities to safely plan and execute demolition operations in a multinational training environment.
JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions, and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya, and Tanzania, JA26 is U.S. Africa Command’s largest exercise in East Africa.
