Norwegian Minister of Defense Tore O. Sandvik greets U.S. Marines with 2nd Marine Division’s Marine Air Ground Task Force during an Allied defense and capability engagement in Setermoen, Norway, March 18, 2026. The engagement marked the end of Exercise Cold Response 26, a multi-domain operation alongside 14 NATO allies and more than 30,000 multinational service members. A key component of NATO's enhanced vigilance activity, Arctic Sentry, exercise CORE26 is a Norwegian-led winter military exercise designed to enhance collective defense capabilities and ensure U.S. readiness to rapidly deploy and seamlessly operate alongside NATO Allies in challenging arctic conditions.
