U.S. Army Pfc. Adalverto Casique, assigned to Headquarters and Support Company, 1st Signal Brigade, acts as a simulated casualty with a sprained wrist while being evaluated by Republic of Korea Army nursing officers from the Yangju Armed Forces Hospital Medical Company at Deokjeong Station, South Korea, March 18, 2026. Dragon Lift, an intra-theater evacuation exercise integrated into Freedom Shield 26, simulates a mass-casualty scenario in which frontline patients are triaged at Deokjeong Station. Emergency cases receive immediate on-site care, while stabilized casualties are transported via train to the Daejeon Armed Forces Hospital. This training validates multinational interoperability, ensuring U.S. and ROK forces can rapidly transport and treat casualties to support the combined defense of the peninsula.
