Washington, D.C. (Feb. 11, 2026) – Crews work at the site of the collapsed Potomac Interceptor as federal and local agencies coordinate repair and recovery operations. DC Water, the lead agency for the interceptor and pipe repair, is overseeing infrastructure work, while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is managing debris removal, water diversion and flow remediation. The Environmental Protection Agency, as the lead federal agency for response efforts, is conducting soil and water testing, and the National Park Service is supporting operations within the surrounding parkland. FEMA is coordinating the multi-agency response, allowing the agencies to work together seamlessly during the recovery effort.
