Capt. Eric Zimmerman, commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, confirms vehicle-to-vehicle communication and route safety procedures with his lead truck commander, Sgt. Chad Stevens, just before the unit departs Clackamas, Ore., for annual training at Orchard Combat Training Center near Boise, Idaho, June 9. According to Zimmerman, his convoy completed the approximately 450-mile trip without incident largely due to sensible planning and the diligent vehicle maintenance efforts of the non-commissioned officers on the convoy.
