U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Andew Loosigan, a master gunner with the 1st Battalion, 101st Field Artillery Regiment, Massachusetts Army National Guard, assists Kenya Defence Forces with fire control alignment testing on a 105mm Howitzer cannon, at Laresoro Range, Isiolo, Kenya, March 2, 2026. This procedure was conducted before artillery cannons were brought to the range to ensure they were in good working condition and that the sights were tested for accuracy, enhancing technical proficiency and interoperability between U.S. Soldiers and KDF during Justified Accord 2026.
JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya, and Tanzania, this year's exercise incorporates personnel from approximately 15 nations. JA26 is U.S. Africa Command's largest exercise in East Africa. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. James Toohey)
