    Arctic Edge

U.S. Marine Raiders assigned to Marine Forces Special Operations Command fires an M249 machine gun and M240B machine gun during a Combined Arms Live-Fire Exercise (CALFEX) in support of ARCTIC EDGE 2026 (AE26) on Fort Greely, Alaska, Feb. 22, 2026. The training enhanced combat readiness and reinforced the ability of joint forces to operate effectively in Arctic and extreme cold-weather environments. AE26 is a North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic.
