US, Kenya maintenance teams conduct vehicle recovery, sustainment training during Justified Accord 2026

U.S. Army Spc. Jade Henderson, right, a wheeled vehicle mechanic with 1st Battalion, 101st Field Artillery Regiment, Massachusetts Army National Guard, and a Kenya Defence Forces mechanic, left, complete the rear caliper replacement on a KDF M1152 Humvee during Justified Accord 2026 at Bearing Point 2, Laresoro, Kenya, March 4, 2026. The bilateral maintenance training enhanced technical readiness and strengthened interoperability between U.S. and KDF forces by allowing mechanics from both nations to exchange knowledge, improve vehicle sustainment practices and build shared maintenance procedures in support of future joint operations.

JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for missions with the United Nations and African Union, and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya, and Tanzania, JA26 is U.S. Africa Command’s largest exercise in East Africa.
