The ceremony marks the formal transfer of authority and responsibility for the detachment. The JECC Marine Corps Detachment consists of Marine Corps planners who integrate into the Joint Planning Support Element, a subordinate unit of the JECC, providing operational expertise to joint planning teams supporting combatant command requirements worldwide.
