(Feb. 26, 2026) Junior officers tour Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Keyport’s additive manufacturing facility during the inaugural Submarine Group (SUBGRU) 9 Junior Officer Symposium, Feb. 26, 2026. During the symposium, junior officers visited Unmanned Undersea Vehicle Group 1, NUWC-Keyport, Submarine Development Squadron 5, and SUBGRU-9 headquarters to learn about different communities in the Navy, build camaraderie, and strengthen relationships. SUBGRU-9 exercises operational and administrative control authority for assigned submarine commands and units in the Pacific Northwest providing oversight for shipboard training, personnel, supply and material readiness of SSBNs and their crews. SUBGRU-9 is also responsible for nuclear submarines undergoing conversion or overhaul at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton.
