Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) executive director Paul Pollock recognized Military Engineer of the Year Lt. Cmdr. Benjamin Male (pictured with his father, Paul) in a ceremony at the Washington Navy Yard Feb. 27, 2026.
Male, from NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, was recognized for his service as Public Works Officer at Naval Weapons Station Earle in Colts Neck, New Jersey. He directed a staff of 100 military and civilian personnel in the management of all construction, acquisition, and sustainment of a 2.9-mile pier complex, 670 facilities, 85 miles of certified federal railroad, and a 12,000-acre footprint with a planned replacement value of $4.9 billion.
Male represented NAVFAC in the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Federal Engineer of the Year program, which recognizes exceptional contributions made by federal engineers to the engineering profession and to those organizations and communities they serve.
