The 104th Fighter Wing promotes Vincent Rizzo, 104th Munitions Systems Superintendent, to Chief Master Sergeant, February 26, 2026, at Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield, Massachusetts.
During the ceremony, Chief Rizzo spoke on his excitement in leading the 104th munitions flight into becoming the very first munitions squadron for the arrival of the F-35A Lightning, and thanked his family and fellow Barnestormers for their support.
"I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to help guide our team as we transition from a flight into a squadron, bringing a renewed focus on bombs and lethality back to the forefront of the ammo mission.," Rizzo said. "This promotion to Chief is not just mine; it belongs to every person who has supported, guided, and challenged me along the way."
Since the rank of Chief Master Sgt. was established in 1958, the U.S. Air Force still only promotes 1% of its enlisted force to the rank of E-9.
