Several 9th Mission Support Command (MSC) Soldiers encourage a fellow competitor who is completing the plank during the Army Fitness Test, a six-event assessment designed to evaluate a Soldier's combat readiness, functional strength, and mental toughness, at Fort Shafter Flats, as part of the 9th MSC & 311th SCT Joint Best Squad Competition on March 2, 2026. During the Best Squad competition, which takes place from March 1-6, 2026, Soldiers are tested on small-unit leadership, technical skills, and stamina through events like ruck marches, weapons qualification, map reading and land navigation, a swimming event, a ruck march, and an obstacle course at different locations across Oahu Island to select the best squads, best Soldier, and the best noncommissioned officer (NCO) to represent the 9th Mission Support Command at the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) and the U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC) Best Squad competitions.
