Healing hands, stronger bonds: US, Kenya teams provide care during Justified Accord 2026

U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ben Krainin, a surgeon assigned to the 173rd Mobile Brigade Combat Team, loads up medical supplies in support of the Justified Accord 2026 Medical Civic Action Program (MEDCAP) at Archers Post, Kenya, Feb. 26, 2026. U.S. Soldiers and Airmen worked alongside counterparts from the Kenya Defence Forces and local civilian medical teams, to provide primary medical care to local residents. The combined team delivered essential Role 1 care, strengthening partnerships and refining medical skills in an austere environment while enhancing cooperation with the local community.

JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions, and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), this year’s exercise is hosted in Djibouti, Kenya and Tanzania. JA26 is U.S. Africa Command’s largest exercise in East Africa.
