U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Damien LoPresti, a NATO cold weather instructor with 2nd Distribution Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, teaches Marines and Sailors how to conceal their tracks during cold weather training in preparation for exercise Cold Response 26 in Elvegardsmoen, Norway, Feb. 22, 2026. The three-day training exercise taught Marines and Sailors how to survive and operate in extreme cold weather conditions, increasing their warfighter capabilities. A key component of NATO's enhanced vigilance activity Arctic Sentry, exercise Cold Response 26 is a Norwegian-led winter military exercise designed to enhance collective defense capabilities and ensure U.S. readiness to rapidly deploy and seamlessly operate alongside NATO Allies in challenging arctic conditions.
