Aaron Collazo, with the 442nd Military Police (MP) Company, 104th MP Battalion, 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border, patrols along the Rio Grande in Laredo, Texas, Jan. 7, 2026. Patrols along the Rio Grande allow for better detection of breaches which increase the apprehension of suspected illegal aliens by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
