In addition to the building expansion, the project included a new 2,608 square yards for parking. Smith Hafeli, Inc. was awarded the project on September 26, 2023 for $5,726,000. They received an authorization to proceed on Nov. 7, 2023. The unit moved into the new addition July 25, 2025 and final acceptance was made Nov. 5. The federal government provided 75 percent of the funding for this project. The state of Illinois provided the remaining 25 percent of project funds.
