Kurt Florian IV, a native of New York and a combat engineer with Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 271, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, makes his initial cut in a tree at the U.S. Navy’s Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center, Andros Island, The Bahamas, Feb. 16, 2026. Marine Aircraft Group 29 Distributed Aviation Operations Exercise is a multi-week exercise designed to distribute command and control of aviation forces, pushing authorities to the lowest levels while keeping forces moving between airfields and air sites.
