Washington state’s National Guard Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Gent Welsh was one of the guest speakers at this year’s Homeland Defense Symposium hosted by the US Army War College, held Feb. 17–19. Welsh addressed homeland defense experts from across the country. He spoke on the rapidly evolving landscape of counter–unmanned aircraft systems and the urgent need to stay ahead of emerging threats. He highlighted how quickly unmanned aircraft systems warfare is changing and emphasized the importance of anticipating future challenges, and that preparation requires both capability and imagination.
