U.S. Army Gen. Randy George, the 41st Chief of Staff of the Army, inspects the next generation of cold-weather training gear during a Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) 26-02 rotation at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Feb. 18, 2026. The new gear is designed to reduce bulk while increasing thermal efficiency for multi-domain operations. JPMRC is critical to the Indo-Pacific strategy as the Army’s first regional combat training center, allowing units to train in the specific climates and rugged terrains where they are most likely to operate.
