A maintenance crew assigned to Delta Company, 2nd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment "Sabers", 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, executed a Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) exercise upon arrival to Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawaii on February 2, 2026. DART training involves preparing Soldiers to rapidly secure, repair, or extract disabled aircraft from combat or remote locations. These specialized teams—comprising maintenance, security, and technical experts—train in sling loading, airframe repair, and damage assessment to minimize exposure and restore aircraft to flyable condition.
