An assortment of samples of sandwiches sit for Army senior leaders to try Feb. 10, 2026, at the Piccola Italia food station in 42 Bistro in Fort Hood, Texas. 42 Bistro is the first of five pilot campus-style dining venues the Army is opening under a contract with Compass Group USA, Inc. The venue will feature expanded hours from traditional dining facilities, as well as seven food stations and a mobile food truck with over 3,000 different recipes.
