U.S. Marines with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), patrol with U.S Border Patrol Agents the U.S.-Mexico border in the San Diego sector, Calif, Feb. 5, 2026. Marines and U.S Border Patrol Agents conduct daily patrols along the barrier to deter and prevent illegal border crossing into the United States. JTF-SB executes full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the southern border.
