A U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH) 465, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, hovers while transporting a steel beam simulating an external lift procedure with Airmen assigned to 821st Contingency Response Group in support of a Deployment for Training at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Feb. 4, 2026. The Airmen and Marines worked together to enhance interoperability and refine joint heavy external lift capabilities. The DFT enables Marines to enhance combat readiness through aviation movement rehearsals, training, and sustainment, ensuring forces remain prepared to deploy and operate in support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force.
