Kennedy (CVN 79), uses a Thermal Imagining Camera (TIC) to conduct overhaul of a simulated aircraft fire during a crash and savage firefighting drill on the flight deck, Jan. 20, 2026. The training evolution was conducted to sharpen the Crash and Salvage team’s skill in preparation for future night-time flight operations. John F. Kennedy is the second Ford-class aircraft carrier and is under construction at HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division in Newport News, Virginia.
