A U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules assigned to the 317th Airlift Wing departs after the airfield reopened following Winter Storm Fern at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, Jan. 28, 2026. The 7th Civil Engineer Squadron prioritized opening the airfield during the storm, using refitted and borrowed equipment to clear inches of snow over ice.
