Retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Thomas Bussiere pins Maj. Gen. Kenneth Eaves, the Air National Guard adviser to the commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, with the Distinguished Service Medal during Eaves’ retirement ceremony at the Missouri State Capitol Rotunda, Jefferson City, Missouri, Jan. 9, 2026. Eaves received the medal in recognition of his exceptional meritorious service in duties of great responsibility, including direct support to leadership, facilitating the successful operation of the Air Force’s nuclear and conventional bomber fleets, intercontinental ballistic missile fleet, the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center, and more than 36 years of faithful and honorable service.
