U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. James Miller, a senior drill instructor with Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, prepares to conduct warm-up exercises with his Marines before a company motivational run at Marine Recruit Depot San Diego, California, Jan. 29, 2026. The company motivational run is a three-mile cadence run conducted around the depot and is the last physical training event the Marines will conduct before they graduate from MCRD San Diego.
