Yorktown, Va. (January 28, 2026) A Patrol Boat crewed by Sailors assigned to the Harbor Patrol Unit (HPU) onboard Naval Weapons Station Yorktown conduct a variety of security exercises utilizing blank firing simulation rounds on the York River in the vicinity of the installation’s R-3 weapons pier. This exercise scenario was conducted as part of the annual Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain 2026 exercises occurring onboard installations across the nation. Regular security exercises with the installation’s Harbor Patrol Unit ensures the ability to respond swiftly when needed to ensure the safety of installation personnel and assets.
