U.S. Air Force Col. Brian Cooper, 386th Expeditionary Air Base Group commander, regains his breath emerging from a polar plunge within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, Dec. 14, 2025. Cooper completed the Cold Weather Operations Course earlier in the year prior to his deployment to the Middle East. The polar plunge was a CWOC reunion that brought together Airmen from multiple states who had previously trained together and were now serving side by side in a deployed desert environment.
